In February we were delighted to announce that Adobe had extended their eduaction/charity pricing policy to include a wide spectrum of Not for Profit organisations. At the same time they permitted these and charities to purchase licenses without resrictions for the first time.
For many weeks we have been experimenting with how to present the license prices without requiring readers to retire to a dark room with a couple of Aspirins. We think we've cracked it! (The original Adobe price list starts with 2300 lines and enough acronyms to justify it's own dictionary!).
We've only included new licenses of the mainline products and only shown Windows versions or products that are dual media. All products are available for the Mac except Acrobat Standard.
THE KEY TO GET THE BEST PRICES!
Every product has a Point Value and 3 Price bands. The more licenses you buy the more you save.
ODD NEWS - Because of something odd in Adobe's prices the lowest price band for each product (1 - 999 points) IS MORE EXPENSIVE than a single boxed copy.
GOOD NEWS - You start to see savings over boxed copies when you reach the next price band (1,000 - 4,999).
EVEN BETTER NEWS - You can add together the points for the products you want and when you, achieve 1000 plus or 5000 plus points ALL the licenses will be available at that price band even if you only require one license of a particular product! For example:

2 x Acrobat Professional (2 x 150 points)
1x CS3 Design Standard (1 x 400 points)
1 x CS3 Web Standard (1 x 400 points)
Total points = 1100. Therefore the prices you'd pay would be -
Acrobat Professional £97.67 (not £138.75)
CS3 Design Standard £288.46 (not £324.97)
CS3 Web Standard £288.46 (not £324.97)
AN EVEN-BETTER EXCEPTION! - The CS3 Master Collection has a 1000 point value and this automatically gives you the (1,000 - 4,999) price band from the word go. It is less expensive to buy this license and a media kit than to buy the boxed copy which costs £705!
MEDIA - You will need a media kit for each type of product. These cost £31 for a CD/DVD or £36 for a download. This is not a typo!
